Give Your Child the Best Start With Early Education and Pre-Kindergarten

At Centennial Baptist School’s Early Education Department (CBS), our staff serves with a deep love for children and their families—nurturing both academic growth and spiritual development. Every aspect of our work is intentional, rooted in our mission to share the love of Jesus with the young children entrusted to our care. Our Early Childhood Education program, which serves children from infants through 4-year-old preschool, is thoughtfully designed to prepare each child for lifelong success—academically, socially, and spiritually. We believe young children learn best through play, movement, and hands-on exploration. Classrooms are carefully arranged to balance structured learning with free play, using developmentally appropriate materials that spark curiosity, creativity, and growth.

We care for the whole child—body, heart, mind, and spirit. Gross motor development is encouraged through joyful movement, outdoor play, and activities that build strength, coordination, and confidence. Cognitive growth is nurtured through hands-on exploration, problem-solving, and opportunities to ask questions, make connections, and think creatively. Social-emotional development is gently supported as children learn to build friendships, express their feelings in healthy ways, and develop empathy through modeled kindness and consistent routines. At the center of it all is spiritual formation: we help children discover that they are deeply loved by God, guiding them in prayer, worship, and a growing understanding of His truth and grace.

Our talented teachers create a joyful, creative environment that reflects the values you instill at home—kindness, respect, helpfulness, compassion, and prayer. As independence, social skills, and personal achievement grow, confidence blossoms—laying a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning, faith, and flourishing.

Our Classrooms

K1 Classroom for the 0–2-Year-Old Infant Classroom

At CBS, we believe infants flourish when they are free to explore, learn, and grow at their own unique pace. Our peaceful, welcoming environment feels like a second home—offering comfort, consistency, and care throughout the day. Loving, qualified teachers partner closely with families to provide the security and support each child needs to thrive as they grow toward toddlerhood.

K2 Classroom for the 2–3-Year-Old Toddler (Not Potty-Trained)
In our toddler program, teachers thoughtfully design learning experiences that support each child’s unique growth and development. Using developmentally appropriate practices, they offer just-right challenges—activities that toddlers can accomplish with gentle guidance and encouragement.

In the K2 classroom, teachers work closely with families to support each child’s journey toward potty training, recognizing it as a meaningful milestone best achieved through partnership between home and school. Alongside this important step, the K2 program nurtures growth in four key areas—cognitive, language, social-emotional, and physical development—laying a strong foundation for continued success as children prepare for the K3 classroom.

K3 Classroom for the Potty-Trained 3–4-Year-Old Preschooler
The K3 Classroom utilizes the Bob Jones University Preschool Curriculum—Pathways for Preschool (PFP). PFP is an inspiring curriculum designed to spark a love of learning in young children. It helps prepare students for the next step by building foundational pre-reading, phonemic awareness, and letter recognition skills. Early concepts in math, social studies, and science are thoughtfully introduced through engaging, age-appropriate activities—including songs, rhymes, games, crafts, group circle time, and individualized learning centers designed to support each child’s growth and overall development.

Preschool Curriculum – Footsteps for Fours (FFF)

FFF is a dynamic, hands-on learning experience designed to engage young learners through both individual and group activities, preparing them for academic success in kindergarten. The curriculum includes thoughtfully planned classroom centers that encourage learning through play. Each day features foundational lessons in phonics, prereading, and math, while age-appropriate segments in music, science, language arts, social studies, and handwriting invite children to explore and make sense of the world around them.

Enrichment Opportunities for K2–K4
Children in our K2–K4 program enjoy a variety of enrichment experiences that nurture both heart and mind. Each Wednesday, school staff lead a weekly chapel featuring age-appropriate worship music and a Bible lesson designed to help children grow in their understanding of God’s love.

For our K3 and K4 students, additional enrichment includes engaging opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), as well as creative exploration through art—encouraging curiosity, imagination, and hands-on learning.
